影展的話 Foreword

澳門國際酷兒影展邁入第四屆，在社會氣候不斷變化之際，仍然堅持以自資方式舉辦。前路並不易行，但我們深信，若無人願意發聲，酷兒族群將更被邊緣化、更難被看見。對我們而言，影展不僅是放映電影的活動，更是一種發聲的渠道——我們將想說的話、無法迴避的話題，以及對社會的疑問，都透過每一部被選映的作品傳遞給觀眾。

四年來，我們一直在現實與理想之間摸索前行。籌募資金的困難與有限的宣傳資源，令舉辦影展儼如一場明知艱難仍負重前行的冒險。但也正因如此，每一位願意走進戲院的觀眾、每一次映後的交流、每一則支持訊息，都讓我們確信：這件事值得做下去。

本屆影展以「Queertopia!/?」為題，精選24部長片作品，創下歷屆之最。這些作品來自不同國家、年代與身份經驗：有些直面社會壓迫，有些則在日常的罅隙中尋找愛與自由，忠實映照出我們所身處的現實世界。

MIQFF一路走來，一直堅守酷兒精神。酷兒精神除了關乎性／別身份，更彰顯了拒絕被單一定義的姿態。我們同時冀盼能夠持續穩定成長，並承載討論空間、連結創作者與觀眾，讓酷兒影像盡顯其存在意義。在此誠邀各位觀眾，藉著驕傲月走進戲院，與我們一同在大銀幕感受酷兒電影的力量。

The Macao International Queer Film Festival enters its fourth edition amid an ever-changing social climate, continuing to exist as a self-funded festival. The path ahead is not an easy one, but we firmly believe that if no one is willing to speak up, queer communities will be further marginalized and rendered less visible. For us, the film festival is not only an event for screening films, but also a channel for expression — a space where what we wish to say, the topics that cannot be avoided, and our questions about society are all conveyed to audiences through each selected work.

Over the past four years, we have continued to navigate between reality and ideals. The difficulties of fundraising and limited resources have made organizing the festival feel like an adventure undertaken despite knowing its hardships. Yet precisely because of this, every audience member who steps into the cinema, every post-screening conversation, and every message of support from the community reaffirm our belief that this endeavor is worth continuing.

This year’s edition is themed “Queertopia!/?”, featuring a curated selection of 24 feature films — the largest in the festival’s history. These works come from different countries, eras, and lived experiences: some confront social oppression head-on, while others search for love and freedom within the fissures of everyday life, faithfully reflecting the realities of the world we inhabit.

MIQFF has always upheld a queer spirit throughout its journey. Queer spirit is not only about sexual and gender identities, but also an attitude of refusing to be defined in a single way. We hope to continue growing steadily, creating space for dialogue, connecting filmmakers and audiences, and ensuring that queer cinema is seen and heard. We warmly invite audiences to step into the cinema during Pride Month and join us in experiencing the power of queer film on the big screen.
